Designing with Nature's Palette

Amethyst Landscape Design creates sensory-rich gardens, inspired by Southern California’s natural landscapes. With indigenous plants and elegant features our gardens bring color and interest year round. Our sustainable approach allows us to design outdoor experiences that are tailored to how you want to live, rest, and connect with nature.

About Amethyst

Amethyst Landscape Design was born from the passion and dedication of Rachel Whitt, our founder and design director. Having earned a B.S. in Business from USC and an A.S. in Sustainable Landscape Design, Rachel brings an intimate knowledge to the design and development process. She is able to bring the experience and support.

Our outdoor experiences blend ecological insight, art, and wellness guiding principles to create thriving gardens that feel restorative, grounded, and deeply connected to Southern California.

Whether you’re transforming a small patio or creating a full landscape, we’ll craft a garden that’s uniquely yours.

Our Services

Wellness Gardens

Wellness gardens focus on providing a calming retreat that helps reduce stress and mental fatigue. Inspired by quantum physics, Feng Shui, and the philosophies of meditation, these gardens invite you to take time and be held in an inspirational, tranquil atmosphere.

Amethyst utilizes stylish design features including layering native plants for color, sound, texture, fragrance, and subtle seasonal shifts, inviting an immersion in nature.

Habitat Gardens

Amethyst’s habitat gardens look and feel like home for both people and wildlife.

Planting palettes center on California natives, attracting and supporting native birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife throughout the year.

The result is a garden that feels grounded, visually refined, and vibrantly alive.

Compliance Review

When your project needs formal approval, Amethyst provides thoughtful support through the review process. We'll help develop planting plans, narratives, and documentation that honor your vision while meeting HOA, agency, or municipal standards—bridging the gap between design intent and compliance requirements.
